About Daniel Romanelli M.D., FAAOS
Qualifications: Dr. Romanelli has been in orthopedic practice for over 20+ years, and he is Board Certified in both Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery. The doctor is an Orthopedic consultant for the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and a Clinical Assistant Professor for the UTRGV School of Medicine. Dr. Romanelli practices at Ortho South Texas/ South Texas Health System.
For seven years, Dr. Romanelli has been a Forensic Orthopedic Expert Witness and has been an IME provider for nine years. Dr. Romanelli received a B.A. from UCLA and my medical degree from New York Medical College. He completed fellowship training in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery in Los Angeles, CA. He has served as an orthopedic consultant for New Mexico State University Athletics and Las Cruces area high schools from 2004-to 2020. Dr. Romanelli also served as one of the traveling team physicians for the U.S. National Soccer Team from 2002-to 2013. Dr. Romanelli served as the Program Director for the Mountain View Orthopedic Residency Training program from 2015-to 2020. He also served as the New Mexico delegate for the American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine (AOSSM) from 2014-to 2020. Dr. Romanelli has served as a volunteer clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedics for the University of New Mexico School of Medicine for Orthopedic clinical rotations in Las Cruces. Dr. Romanelli participated on the ABOS Standard setting committee for the specialty Sports Medicine examination 2017.
